Legal boundary and occupancy

Parcel, city or unincorporated county, zoning, owner/manager presence, stay length, bedrooms and offered guest capacity. KCK is not Kansas City, Missouri.

KDA classification

Record guest capacity AND rooms offered. The statutory guest-house maximums are seven guests and three sleeping rooms; three rooms/eight guests or four rooms/six guests exceed the exception. Record any agency classification for a mixed operation, inspections, license and fees.

Wichita land-use route

Inside the city? Record residential district and owner occupancy; administrative approval if applicable. In an unincorporated Sedgwick County residential district? Obtain the county decision instead.

KCK pre-application file

Planning meeting, correct jurisdiction, site/floor/parking plans, home inspection, Special Use Permit conditions, current hearing calendar and licensing requirements.

Special-period approval

Any approval obtained May 15–July 25, 2026? Record continuing authority, expiration and conditions in writing. Do not apply a 15-day automatic-approval rule to a new October application.

Tax classification by channel

Direct or facilitated bookings; gross receipts; bedrooms; stay dates; transient guest tax jurisdiction; separate sales-tax analysis; collector evidence. More than 28 days is not an automatic sales-tax exemption.

Renewal and buyer

Wichita license: one year from issuance, nontransferable to another person or location. Record state/local expiration, current fees, inspections, buyer application and capacity or operating-model changes.
