With $1,750 owner rent, $150 utility allowance, $1,800 applicable payment standard and $600 total tenant payment, gross rent is $1,900. Assistance to the owner is $1,200, tenant rent to the owner is $550 and family gross share is $700. This is 35% of assumed $2,000 adjusted monthly income; it does not establish tenancy approval.
1. Record the reference and authority inputs
2. Reconcile the monthly payments
3. Complete the decision
Calculation notes
Ordinary unprorated tenant-based voucher illustration. Assistance to owner = lesser of total assistance and owner rent. Tenant rent to owner = owner rent - assistance to owner. Utility reimbursement = assistance beyond owner rent. At $600 owner rent, $200 utilities, $900 standard and $100 TTP, assistance is $700: $600 to owner and $100 utility reimbursement, with $0 tenant rent to owner. The authority determines the actual household inputs and approvals.
