Worked example

An invented 90-night allowance at $200/night and 25% incremental costs contributes $150 per booked night. A $18,000 fixed cash budget needs 120 nights. Even 90 sold nights leave a $4,500 deficit. This example does not establish legal eligibility anywhere.

1. Define the exact use

2. Resolve the operating conditions

3. Turn conditions into a budget

Calculation notes

Booked nights = usable permitted nights × booking share of those nights. Contribution per night = accommodation rate less incremental costs. Nights needed = fixed cash budget / contribution per night, when contribution is positive. A night limit does not itself establish eligibility; review actual approval, tax, contract and coverage requirements.
