Greater Cleveland RTA Light rail
Section 8 apartments near the RTA Waterfront Line
The RTA Waterfront Line is a light-rail extension from Tower City north through the Flats to the North Coast lakefront (Muni Lot, South Harbor, Rock Hall). Limited service; mainly runs during Browns games, Rock Hall visits, and select events.
State law limits local voucher protections
Ohio does not protect Housing Choice Voucher holders from source-of-income discrimination. HB 430 (2022) preempts local ordinances, so a landlord can legally decline a voucher applicant. Voucher tenants remain a good option for landlords who want guaranteed monthly rent — but the choice remains legal to make either way. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (2024) documented widespread SOI discrimination in Cleveland.
