Under Boston’s Fair Housing Ordinance and Massachusetts state law, it is illegal for a landlord in Boston to refuse an applicant because they use a housing voucher. Boston’s ordinance predates state law and carries additional municipal enforcement by the Boston Fair Housing Commission.
