Voucher discrimination is illegal here
Under NY Real Property Law §227-h, source-of-income discrimination is prohibited statewide. A March 2026 appellate ruling (Commons West) created some uncertainty about state-law enforcement as applied to Section 8 in the Third Department — local courts may vary. Consult legal aid if you experience discrimination.
