No source-of-income protection in effect
Mississippi does not protect Housing Choice Voucher holders from source-of-income discrimination. State law has no SOI protection, no relevant local ordinances exist in DeSoto County (Horn Lake / Southaven). A landlord can legally decline a voucher applicant. Voucher tenants remain a good option for landlords — guaranteed monthly rent that often exceeds market — but the choice is voluntary either way.
